A survey report on racism, xenophobia and other related forms of intolerance in Spain stressed that:

- The term of "hate crime" includes different behaviors, some classified as criminal offences in the Spanish criminal code, and others included as offences in administrative rules.
- A total of 1.328 crimes of hatred registered: anti-Semitism: 9; Aporophobia: 17; beliefs or religious practices: 70; disability: 226; sexual orientation or identity: 169; racism and xenophobia: 505; ideology: 308; discrimination based on gender: 24. - Two new criminal areas are incorporated: the incidents motivated by reason of gender, and ideology.

Methodology (Qualitative/Quantitative and exact type used, questionnaires etc)

The data were obtained through the Crime Statistics System (statistical system of criminality (SEC)).

For its computation takes into account the facts that have being acknowledge by the following police corps: Guardia Civil, the National Police, the independent police of the different autonomous communities (Ertzaintza and Mossos d'esquadra and Policía Foral de Navarra) as well as the Local Police groups.
